Job summary

PCL Civil Constructors, Inc. is hiring an experienced HSE Supervisor to lead safety programs across East District projects from Raleigh to New Orleans and beyond.

You will mentor teams, enforce regulatory compliance, and drive continuous safety improvements on civil infrastructure work. Ideal candidates hold a related degree and at least 5 years in health and safety roles, with strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Occupational Health and Safety or a related field.
• 5 years’ experience in a health and safety role in a related industry; supervisory experience is a plus.
• Solid understanding of OH&S and environmental legislation and HSE processes.

Responsibilities

• Implements and supports project HSE plans, regulatory requirements, and other safe work practices.
• Identifies, develops and delivers project specific HSE training.
• Implements district HSE communication strategies on projects.
• Recognizes, evaluates, and advises on hazard identification.
• Leads and conducts project HSE inspections and monitors the quality and effectiveness of inspections and trade safety plans.
• Develops and evaluates efficiency of the project emergency response plan, site-specific security requirements and the environmental plan.
• Monitors and audits trade contractor HSE performance.
• Participates in on-site investigative processes and evaluating corrective actions taken.
• Develops and maintains positive relationships with all stakeholders.
• Coaches, trains and mentors HSE Coordinators and other employees.

Here's how a HSE Supervisor for PCL Civil Constructors, Inc. within Civil East contributes to our team:

Leads the implementation and continuous improvement of project health, safety, and environmental programs, partnering with project teams, trade partners, and field leadership to promote a strong safety culture, ensure regulatory compliance, and support the safe delivery of complex civil infrastructure projects across the East District

• Solid understanding of applicable OH&S and environmental legislation and HSE processes.
• Conflict resolution skills, with the ability to problem-solve.
• Strong verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
• Ability to develop, influence, and maintain effective stakeholder relationships.
• Strong working knowledge of construction processes and terminology.
• Solid understanding of Microsoft Office Suite with a strong aptitude for adopting new technology.
