Job Description
Job Summary:
The HSE Specialist identifies, eliminates, and controls hazardous conditions that may lead to injury and/or property damage using Strike's HSE standards, best practices, and analytical techniques. This role requires frequent travel and the ability to be located away from home for the duration of the project.
Primary Job Function:
- Plan and execute the site HSE function requirements.
- Conduct daily site HSE meetings.
- Implement preventive measures and recommend improvements on unsafe conditions, materials, and equipment.
- Perform job site analysis, determine employee exposure, and establish safe work procedures.
- Conduct daily HSE inspections, document findings, and implement corrective actions.
- Conduct accident investigations and facilitate the return-to-work program.
- Manage injury management activities and Workers Compensation issues.
- Administer the Company Substance Abuse Program, including drug and alcohol testing.
- Maintain all site documentation related to HSE issues, such as accident reports, inspection reports, and training logs.
- Conduct HSE training sessions for employees and supervisors.
- Coordinate with subcontractors on work progress and monitor their HSE-related functions.
- Investigate all incidents and near misses, providing recommendations for prevention and mitigation.
- Participate in root cause or similar investigations.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, PHMSA, FMCSA, EPA, TCEQ, and other applicable federal, state, and local requirements.
- Assist in the development of Temporary Traffic Control Plans and Procedures.
- Work professionally with project personnel to maintain the company's integrity and relationships.
Experience:
- 4-10 years of construction HSE-related experience.
- Working knowledge of OSHA CFR 1926 standards.
Education/Training:
- Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in an HSE-related field.
- First Aid, CPR, OSHA 500 certification.

- Physical ability to endure frequent activity, long days, and outdoor conditions.
