Job summary

GPC, in Jacksonville, FL, seeks a Counter Sales Representative II to deliver quality customer service and support at our key retail location. You will assist walk-in customers, apply product knowledge, and help build customer assemblies.

Under general supervision, you will work with the Solutions Center Manager and outside sales to grow the business, while ensuring safety guidelines and efficient location maintenance are followed.

Qualifications

• Requires a high school diploma or GED with 3–5 years of related experience or equivalent.
• Experience in industrial sales and hands-on mechanical work are a plus.
• Strong knowledge of hydraulic components and hose/thread configurations is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Provide first-class customer service to the local market at the Jacksonville location.
• Assist customers face-to-face with product knowledge and problem solving.
• Troubleshoot customer problems and offer creative solutions.
• Identify and build customer assemblies to support sales.
• Ensure knowledge of equipment usage and safety guidelines are followed.
• Collaborate with Solutions Center Manager and outside sales to grow the business.
• Maintain location operations and assist in team efforts as needed.
• Maintain key customer relationships and ensure value-added interactions.

SUMMARY:

Under general supervision, the Counter Sales Representative II provides quality customer service and support at a key location in the retail and service business segment.

JOB DUTIES

• Supports location sales by providing first class customer service to local market.
• Assists in servicing customers face-to-face through familiarity and knowledge of products.
• Troubleshoots customer problems and provides creative solutions.
• Identifies and builds customer assemblies.
• Ensures knowledge of use of all equipment.
• Works closely with the Solutions Center Manager and outside sales group to develop and grow the business.
• Assists team in overall maintenance of the location.
• Participates in making sure all safety guidelines are followed.
• Maintains key relationships with customers.
• Ensures customer service and value-add is a focal point of every interaction.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

• Typically requires a high school diploma or GED and three (3) to five (5) years of related experience or an equivalent combination.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES
