Job summary

TIC - The Industrial Company is seeking skilled personnel to lay out, assemble, and erect steel components in accordance with blueprints and industry standards. You will read specifications, fabricate parts, and operate hoisting equipment on a construction site.

Responsibilities include aligning members, cutting and welding as required, and ensuring safety and quality in a dynamic industrial environment. Previous field experience and tool proficiency are valued.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with field experience preferred.
• Strong working knowledge and abilities for the position.
• Ability to understand, follow and transmit written and oral instructions.
• Proficient use of electrical, hand and power tools; layout and measurement tools.

Responsibilities

• Read specifications or blueprints to determine material locations, quantities, or sizes.
• Fabricate metal parts per blueprints or supervisor instructions.
• Unload and position prefabricated steel units; hoist with cranes or signaling.
• Verify vertical and horizontal alignment using plumb bobs or laser equipment.
• Cut, bend, or weld steel pieces using torches or welding equipment.
• Position structural steel with turnbuckles, jacks, or hand tools.
• Bolt structural members for riveting, bolting, or welding in place.
• Assemble hoisting equipment or riggings to move heavy materials.
• Estimate sizes, distances, quantities, time, costs, and resources needed.
• Inspect workers' output for compliance with plans and specs.
