Job summary

Midwest Metals is seeking a Payroll & HRIS Manager to own end-to-end payroll, HRIS administration, and timekeeping across multiple Michigan locations. You will drive system implementations, data integrity, and workforce analytics to support growth.

The role requires manufacturing experience, multi-site payroll knowledge, and strong project management. A focus on automation and scalable processes is essential for our expanding organization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in HR, Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field.
• 5+ years of payroll, HRIS, or HR operations experience.
• Manufacturing or multi-site experience preferred.
• Experience managing payroll for large hourly/non-exempt populations.
• Experience leading HRIS/payroll implementations preferred.
• Multi-state payroll experience is a plus.
• Strong Excel skills; BI/reporting tools a plus.
• Experience with system configuration, data conversion, testing, integrations, and vendor management.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end payroll processing across multiple locations and states.
• Maintain payroll controls, reconciliations, deductions, taxes, and year-end activities.
• Serve as primary HR systems administrator and data integrity steward.
• Lead UKG implementation with vendor and internal teams across locations.
• Lead Time & Attendance implementation and establish consistent practices.
• Build HR dashboards and analytics on headcount, turnover, and labor costs.
• Identify automation opportunities and document scalable procedures.
• Collaborate with Finance/Operations to resolve payroll and data issues.
• Support integrations for acquisitions and new locations.
• Protect confidentiality and manage system access and security.
