Midwest Metals is seeking a Payroll & HRIS Manager to own end-to-end payroll, HRIS administration, and timekeeping across multiple Michigan locations. You will drive system implementations, data integrity, and workforce analytics to support growth.
The role requires manufacturing experience, multi-site payroll knowledge, and strong project management. A focus on automation and scalable processes is essential for our expanding organization.
We're looking for more than a payroll professional. We're looking for a systems-minded builder who can create the infrastructure behind a growing manufacturing company.
Midwest Metals is expanding rapidly across multiple locations. We need a Payroll & HRIS Manager who can ensure accurate, timely payroll today while helping build the HR technology, timekeeping, reporting, and analytics capabilities we will need tomorrow.
Midwest Metals is a privately held, family-owned manufacturing company on the move. We started in steel processing, and we are now building something bigger: a diversified manufacturing organization with locations across Michigan, and more on the way.
Our momentum comes from two directions. We are acquiring well-run manufacturers that bring new capabilities, new customers, and talented teams into the Midwest Metals family. At the same time, we are growing organically by investing in our existing operations, expanding capacity, adding equipment and services, and deepening relationships with the customers who already count on us.
What has not changed is who we are. Integrity, hard work, long-term relationships, and taking care of our people are still at the heart of everything we do. We are building a company designed to thrive for generations, with the entrepreneurial energy of a fast-growing business and the culture of a family that looks out for its own.
This role goes well beyond processing payroll. You will lead key projects including implementation of a new HRIS and Time & Attendance system, improve payroll and HR processes, and help build modern workforce reporting and analytics from the ground up. We need someone who can manage the details while also seeing how systems, data, and processes fit together.
Reporting to the Director of Human Resources, the Payroll & HRIS Manager is responsible for accurate end-to-end payroll administration, HR systems, time and attendance, HR data integrity, reporting, analytics, and related process improvement across Midwest Metals.
The position is based at our Temperance, Michigan site and supports our locations in Adrian, Litchfield, Morenci, and Detroit, Michigan, with occasional travel as needed.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, analytical, curious, and accountable. They can process payroll accurately, configure systems, build dashboards, work with vendors, and lead an implementation without losing sight of the employee experience. They don't just produce reports. They ask why the numbers are changing and what they mean for the business.
At Midwest Metals, we believe taking care of our people is an important part of building a great company. Our benefits package is designed to support the health, financial well-being, and work-life balance of our employees and their families.
Eligible employees have access to benefits including:
We aren't looking for someone to simply maintain payroll and HR systems. We're looking for someone who wants to help build the infrastructure behind a growing manufacturing company. Our greatest competitive advantage is our people, and this role will help ensure the systems, data, and processes supporting them can grow with us. If that opportunity excites you, we'd welcome the opportunity to meet you.
