Job summary

The Lakes Crossing Psychiatric Facility Human Resources Office in Sparks is hiring a Human Resources Technician 1. Duties include managing recruitment and selection; onboarding of new employees; new hire orientation; and maintenance of employment records.

The role serves as liaison for PEBP and PERS and handles payroll-related tasks. Under general supervision, perform HR records processing, payroll support, and provide exceptional customer service while guiding management and staff in HR

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and two years clerical experience with extensive public contact and customer service, recordkeeping, document processing, and the application of policies and regulations.
• Or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Strong ability to apply and interpret policies and regulations.
• Proficiency with basic office software and recordkeeping is expected.

Responsibilities

• Receive and review requests to fill vacancies and obtain approvals.
• Develop recruitment plans and draft job announcements; participate in outreach activities.
• Evaluate applications for eligibility and schedule examinations; administer testing.
• Provide new hire orientation and information on retirement, pay schedules, and benefits.
• Enter HR/payroll data and audit transactions for accuracy; respond to inquiries.
