Job summary

Paylocity is seeking an Implementation Consultant I to support small business clients by configuring HR and payroll solutions. You will conduct needs analyses, tailor system setups, and ensure accurate data conversion while providing hands-on transition support to the Client Services team.

This 100% in-office role is based at our Rochester, NY location. Strong communication and Excel proficiency are essential as you coordinate with clients and internal teams to deliver successful implementations.

Qualifications

• 1+ years in customer service or customer interfacing role.
• 1+ years of HCM implementation experience preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred; other combinations considered if experience is strong.
• Strong interpersonal and written communication skills with customer focus.
• Proficiency with Excel functions (VLOOKUP, Pivot tables, data manipulation).
• Ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and stay organized.

Responsibilities

• Act as client’s trusted advisor throughout the implementation process.
• Provide smooth transition and post-implementation support as needed.
• Assist clients in data migration, mapping, and validation for data integration into HCM software.
• Collaborate with clients to gather and analyze business requirements for payroll, HR, time and labor.
• Review configuration with clients to ensure alignment with needs and optimal system use.
• Coordinate with sales, product SMEs and project managers to deliver high-quality implementations.
• Troubleshoot and resolve implementation-related matters and escalate when necessary.
