Job summary

Sioux Valley Dakota Nation is seeking a motivated, experienced HR Generalist to support recruitment, onboarding, employee records management, benefits administration, and compliance with employment legislation and policies.

The role covers screening applicants, coordinating interviews, conducting entry-level interviews, maintaining personnel records, supporting performance reviews, and handling workplace investigations while ensuring confidentiality and accuracy in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Degree, diploma, or certificate in Human Resources or a related field preferred.
• CHRP designation, or actively pursuing designation, is considered an asset.
• Experience in HR administration, recruitment, employee relations, and records management.
• Excellent communication, organizational, problem-solving, and time management skills.

Responsibilities

• Recruit applicants to meet organizational staffing needs.
• Prepare and maintain job advertisements and recruitment postings.
• Track recruitment metrics, including time-to-fill and time-to-hire.
• Screen applications and coordinate interviews in a timely manner.
• Conduct entry-level interviews and complete reference checks.
• Prepare forms, correspondence, reports, and HR-related documentation.
• Maintain accurate personnel records and HR filing systems.
• Assist management with employee performance review processes.
• Remain current on Employment Standards, Human Rights legislation, and HR best practices.
• Conduct workplace investigations related to grievances, discipline, and respectful workplace concerns, and provide recommendations.
• Coordinate employee benefits administration, including enrollments, changes, terminations, claims, and inquiries.
