Job summary

The City of Hendersonville is seeking an experienced Risk Management professional to lead and coordinate safety, workers’ compensation, and property and casualty programs. You will develop policies, monitor regulatory compliance, and guide departments in risk reduction.

The role requires strong knowledge of OSHA standards, incident investigation, and data analysis to improve safety outcomes across city operations. Public sector environment and diverse program oversight are involved.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in risk management, industrial safety, or related field with up to 3 years municipal risk management experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in risk management, industrial safety, or related field with 4–7 years municipal risk management experience; relevant certifications preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in risk management, industrial safety, or related field with 8+ years municipal risk management experience; multiple certifications may be required.

Responsibilities

• Plans, coordinates, and implements safety programs; ensures compliance and maintains records.
• Audits risk management policies and communicates trends to City leadership.
• Administers workers’ compensation and liability programs and coordinates with insurers.
• Organizes safety trainings, incident investigations, and keeps OSHA and DOT compliance.
