• Knowledge of regulations, policies and methods for managing risk and emergency preparedness.
• Ability to interpret regulations and implement compliant programs.
• Experience communicating with regulators, consultants, and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Develops and enforces safety policies and procedures in compliance with OSHA rules and regulations.
• Leads and participates in programs to minimize risk and promote workplace safety.
• Coordinates response efforts with federal, state, and local agencies including OSHA and law enforcement.
• Oversees the implementation of the Safety Program and conducts employee training on safety topics.
• Investigates accidents and prepares reports with findings and corrective actions.
• Manages the District’s Risk Management Program including claims processing and reporting.
• Coordinates inspections and emergency management activities, including training and drills.
• Assists in developing and delivering Safety and Risk Management training programs.
