Job summary

The State of Nevada, Division of Human Resource Management, seeks a Human Resources Technician 2 to support HR professionals in Las Vegas or Carson City. You will audit and process state employee personnel transactions, manage the service jacket database, and apply NAC guidance to payroll-record processing.

Responsibilities include recruitment support, eligibility reviews, new hire orientation, and HR/payroll data entry and auditing in a live system.

Qualifications

• Graduation from high school or equivalent education and one year of technical personnel/payroll experience; or one year of experience as a Human Resources Technician I in Nevada State service; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Audit and process State employee personnel transactions and payroll records.
• Maintain the service jacket database and HR records per retention schedules.
• Provide recruitment support, including outreach, job announcements, and advertising.
• Review applications for eligibility and coordinate tests, schedules, and certification lists.
• Explain benefits, leave, timekeeping, and policies during new hire orientation.
• Enter and audit HR/payroll data in the live system; assist with testing as needed.
• Research HR/payroll issues, correct overpayments/underpayments, and monitor leave accruals and pay progression.
• Coordinate workers’ compensation, FMLA, and related leave to run concurrently.
• Respond to HR/payroll questions with accurate policy information.
