Job summary

Transdev in San Diego, CA is seeking a Human Resources Generalist to support day-to-day HR and payroll operations, including full-cycle recruiting, employee administration, payroll support, leaves of absence, status changes, and separations.

This role partners with the Payroll Manager and HR/Operations teams to ensure payroll accuracy, timekeeping, and compliance with CBAs and federal/state requirements. The ideal candidate is customer-service oriented, highly organized, and detail-driven.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of two years of Payroll and HR experience.
• Experience with payroll, timekeeping, employee status changes and termination processing preferred.
• Working knowledge of California wage-and-hour requirements preferred.
• Experience in a unionized environment with CBAs preferred.
• Able to work shifts or flexible schedules as needed.
• Subject to DOT drug testing where applicable.

Responsibilities

• Support day-to-day payroll operations and serve as an operational partner to the Payroll Manager.
• Review timekeeping and payroll information for accuracy and resolve discrepancies before payroll processing.
• Coordinate with Operations and Corporate Payroll to resolve payroll/timekeeping discrepancies.
• Support payroll administration for drivers, staff and other employee groups.
• Process and maintain employee status changes including hires, transfers, promotions, leaves, reinstatements and separations.
• Assist with payroll adjustments, corrections, retroactive payments and PTO transactions.
• Support payroll reporting, reconciliation, recordkeeping and audit activities.
• Maintain accurate payroll documentation and employee records in HRIS/timekeeping systems.
• Assist with interpretation of applicable CBAs affecting payroll (wages, seniority, premiums, overtime, paid leave, etc.).
