Job summary

The State of West Virginia is seeking an entry-level Payroll and HR Support Clerk to maintain payroll records and ensure timely procedures under close supervision.

The role supports the HR Manager with postings, interviews, orientation, and training; attends recruiting events and may travel for training and coverage of duties as required. Compliance with state and ACA standards is expected.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Two years of paid clerical experience, with at least one year in HR/payroll/accounting.
• Education may substitute for experience at 1 year per 30 college hours.
• A valid driver’s license may be required.

Responsibilities

• Gather, process, and maintain payroll and payroll records.
• Complete weekly reports and assist HR Manager with postings, interviews, and new hire orientation.
• Create new hire interview/orientation packets; assist with training and recruitment events.
• May travel for training and cover security post duties as needed.
• Compliance with state and ACA HR/payroll standards.
