Job summary

The NC Department of Adult Correction is seeking an HR Technician I (S) for Central HR, overseeing Organizational Management actions and supporting compensation and pay administration. You will initiate and monitor OM requests, ensure accuracy and confidentiality, and provide high-quality customer service throughout the workflow.

You will also prepare reports, maintain position descriptions in Workday, and collaborate with internal and external teams on OM processes and projects.

Qualifications

• Hands-on HR experience with federal and state laws, and policies.
• Experience with Integrated HR systems like Workday.
• Experience creating reports to review position, employee, and organizational data.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PDF).

Responsibilities

• Initiate, monitor, track, revise, and complete OM actions in the payroll system.
• Review OM requests for content, accuracy, and required documentation.
• Guide HR and Admin staff on OM requirements and best practices.
• Generate reports on position, employee, and organizational data; identify discrepancies.
• Process position description updates in Workday.
• Collaborate with internal and external teams to complete actions.
• Assist with OM projects and mass uploads.
