Job summary

SBPM Partners, Inc. is seeking an HR Operations Specialist to manage the back-office lifecycle for contractors placed by our staffing clients, from onboarding to paycheck.

You’ll support client accounts and active contractors, reporting to the Operations Team Manager in a fast-paced payroll, onboarding, and benefits environment. This role is on-site in Houston, near Town and Country, full-time with growth potential as headcount expands.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience at a staffing or recruiting firm, or in an HR support role at a service company.
• Hands-on experience with onboarding new hires, benefits enrollment and/or processing payroll.
• Working knowledge of at least one major payroll system, with the ability to demonstrate it.
• Familiarity with ordering & monitor background checks, and drug screenings.
• Strong skills in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
• Clear, professional communication, and comfort picking up the phone to get answers.
• Authorization to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Onboard new contractors for client accounts, collecting new-hire paperwork and tracking facility-specific training requirements.
• Coordinate background checks, and drug screens, following through until each contractor is cleared to start.
• Process contractor payroll in systems such as ADP, Paychex, Paycom, and Paylocity, verifying hours and resolving discrepancies before deadlines.
• Support benefits enrollment and answer contractor questions about pay and benefits.
• Serve as a day-to-day point of contact for new and existing clients.
• Follow up with contractors by phone, email, and text to collect missing documents, timesheets, and completion of required screenings and trainings.
• Keep records accurate and current across back-office, payroll, and staffing systems.
