Job summary

Shavitz Heating & Air Conditioning is seeking a part-time HR Manager/Coordinator in Skokie, IL to support employee operations and payroll processes. You will manage recruitment, onboarding, compliance, time tracking, and offboarding while partnering with managers to refine HR workflows.

The role requires versatility, keen attention to detail, and the ability to switch hats between employee support and administrative duties; familiarity with ADP and ServiceTitan is a plus.

Qualifications

• Experience in HR coordination or similar role.
• Payroll support experience preferred.
• Familiarity with HR laws and employee records.

Responsibilities

• Recruitment and onboarding support; post jobs, screen candidates, arrange interviews.
• Set up new hires in ADP and other systems; coordinate Day 1 experiences.
• Maintain HR records and ensure compliance with federal/state laws.
• Track performance reviews and PTO/sick time; manage attendance.
• Assist payroll by auditing timecards and processing payroll inputs.
• Handle termination/offboarding, equipment return, and access removal.
• Draft internal communications and maintain HR documents.
