Job summary

NorthBay Recruiter seeks a motivated Human Resources Specialist to help keep core HR processes running smoothly and provide dependable support to employees and leaders. This hands-on role spans recruiting administration, employee records, HR systems, onboarding and offboarding, and day-to-day employee support.

The right candidate will be detail-focused, organized, and capable of handling confidential information while managing multiple priorities and evolving processes.

Qualifications

• At least 3 years of experience in an HR coordinator, HR specialist, HR administrator, or similar role.
• College degree in HR, business, or a related discipline preferred.
• Two or more years working with an HRIS
• Familiarity with fundamental HR practices, personnel documentation, employee records, and confidentiality requirements.
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
• HR certification, or plans to pursue a credential such as PHR or SHRM-CP, is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a primary point of contact for routine HR questions, directing complex issues to the appropriate resource.
• Manage incoming HR requests and ensure follow-ups are addressed promptly.
• Assist with recruiting administration, including preparing employment offers and coordinating pre-employment requirements.
• Review employee change documentation and verify approvals, materials, and dates are complete and accurate.
• Help facilitate employee transitions, including new hires, internal moves, and departures.
• Keep personnel information, HR files, forms, and related documentation current and organized.
