Job summary

Horizontal Talent is seeking a detail-oriented contractor to join its People Operations team in San Francisco, focused on onboarding, HR systems, and people services.

You will coordinate day-to-day onboarding for new hires, support contingent worker onboarding, and manage employee data across tools to ensure accurate records and smooth workflows. Collaboration with Payroll, Legal, IT and other teams is essential.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting HR operations, people services, or similar administrative workflows.
• Strong familiarity with HR systems; Workday experience is strongly preferred.
• Ability to manage sensitive employee information with accuracy, discretion, and care.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate day-to-day onboarding for new hire groups, ensuring a well-organized and positive start experience.
• Support contingent worker onboarding by collecting information, initiating background checks, and confirming start details.
• Process employee status changes, including transitions, contractor updates, and related vendor communications.
• Maintain accurate employee records in HR systems and ensure data consistency across tools.
• Partner with People Partners, Payroll, Legal, IT, and Internal Tools to support data and compliance.
• Triage and respond to employee questions via the people tickets queue.
• Help create and maintain onboarding guides, process documentation, and FAQs.
• Support a collaborative team environment and cover onboarding and ticket workflows as needed.
