Job summary

Astec is seeking an HR Coordinator in Parsons, KS to handle administrative HR tasks, support managers with recruitment, maintain employee records, and assist with payroll processing. The role offers exposure to compliance and business operations in a collaborative environment.

You'll organize onboarding and training, manage records, and respond to employee inquiries while contributing to process improvements and HR projects, under supervision of the HR team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in human resources or related field and/or equivalent experience.
• 0-2 years of experience in Human Resources or related field.
• Basic Microsoft Office skills.
• Basic knowledge of Human Resources and business operations.
• Strong sense of collaboration and teamwork.
• Service minded with a focus on quality and accountability of work.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Ability to effectively speak publicly and make presentations.
• Ability to write reports, policies, procedures, and business correspondence.

Responsibilities

• Assist with all internal and external HR related inquiries or requests.
• Maintain both hard and digital copies of employees' records.
• Assist with the recruitment process by identifying candidates, performing reference checks and issuing employment contracts.
• Assist with performance management procedures.
• Schedule meetings, interviews, HR events and maintain agendas.
• Coordinate training sessions and seminars.
• Perform orientations and update records of new staff.
• Produce and submit reports on general HR activity.
• Identify potential areas of improvement and propose changes to processes.
• Assist with payroll and ad-hoc HR projects.
• Support other assigned functions.
• Keep up-to-date with the latest HR trends and best practices.
