Job summary

Old Dominion Freight Line is seeking an experienced Human Resources Manager in Commerce City, CO. The role leads HR at the service center, guiding employee relations, policy application, onboarding, and labor relations to maximize engagement and service excellence.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) with 5 years in HR Generalist roles, preferably in trucking, and proficiency in AS400, SAP, and Microsoft Office. Strong communication and leadership skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education and experience.
• PHR or SHRM certification preferred.
• 5 years of experience as a HR Generalist, preferably in the trucking industry.
• Demonstrated proficiency with AS400, SAP and Microsoft Office.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Working knowledge of federal, state, and local employment law.
• Strong leadership, time management and organizational skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide guidance for employee relations, ensuring policy and procedure consistency and onboarding to maximize engagement.
• Guide day-to-day decisions about employees and promote OD values and service excellence.
• Monitor employee/labor relations issues and improve management–employee relations.
• Collaborate with Corporate HR recruiting to engage local colleges and attend job fairs.
• Recruit, interview, and work with Service Center Manager to fill open positions.
• Oversee onboarding/orientation sessions with HR leadership support.
• Address questions on benefits, pay, and leave policies; support FMLA/Disability processes.
