Job summary

Fortune Personnel Consultants – Orlando Office is assisting a client in the Greater Indianapolis area to hire an HR Manager for a growing, non‑union facility with 400+ employees. The successful candidate will lead an HR team and serve as a key advisor to plant leadership, balancing strategic partnership with hands‑on execution.

You will oversee recruiting, onboarding, payroll, benefits, and FMLA administration while helping shape HR policies and employee relations across the site.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in Human Resources, with prior experience as an HR Generalist or HR Manager.
• Manufacturing experience is highly preferred.
• Familiarity with recruiting, employee relations, benefits, payroll, internal communications, and talent management.
• Demonstrated experience handling FMLA, policy administration, and complex employee concerns.
• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related discipline.

Responsibilities

• Lead a seven-person HR team supporting Generalist, Payroll, and Benefits responsibilities while advising plant leadership.
• Create programs to improve employee engagement, communication, and retention.
• Advise leadership on employee relations, performance management, workplace investigations, and conflict resolution.
• Lead all major people processes, including recruiting, onboarding, payroll oversight, benefits coordination, and FMLA administration.
• Help ensure HR practices meet corporate requirements and support the site’s operating goals.
• Review, refine, and implement HR policies and procedures.
• Create an environment where employees and managers have clear, timely, and effective HR support.
