Job summary

TWOPAGESCURTAINS in Downtown Los Angeles is seeking an experienced HR Specialist/Manager to oversee U.S. operations. The role covers recruiting, onboarding, payroll, benefits, and compliance with federal and California laws, reporting to the China-based HQ.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, and able to work independently in a fast-paced, international environment. This on-site position offers a competitive hourly compensation of $32–$40 and opportunities to shape HR processes

Qualifications

• 2+ years of HR experience in the U.S.
• Experience managing HR operations for a U.S. office
• Knowledge of US and California employment laws
• Experience with payroll, benefits, onboarding
• Immigration/work authorization experience
• Experience with external payroll providers (ADP/Gusto/Paychex)
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Excellent written and verbal English communication
• Mandarin Chinese proficiency preferred
• Legally authorized to work in the United States

Responsibilities

• Recruiting and onboarding for U.S.-based positions
• Onboarding/offboarding, I-9 and E-Verify
• Payroll coordination with providers (ADP, Gusto, Paychex)
• Benefits administration support
• Maintain employee records and HR policies
• Ensure compliance with FLSA, FMLA, wage/hour laws
• Support immigration and work authorization matters
• Coordinate with China-based HQ and U.S. team
• Office administration and operations support
