Job summary

TxDOT’s Human Resources team in the Childress District is seeking a motivated, year-round Intern Support Technician to join our team in Childress, Texas. You will gain hands-on experience supporting recruiting, onboarding, events, records management, data audits, and other HR operations while maintaining confidentiality and customer service.

Applicants must be enrolled in high school, college, or a trade program and available year-round, including a minimum of 20 hours per week during the school

Qualifications

• Must be a student in high school or enrolled in college, university, or a trade/vocational program.
• Must be at least 16 years old.
• Employees 18+ with a valid driver's license may be assigned driving duties.

Responsibilities

• Performs entry-level administrative support work following specific instructions.
• Answers the telephone, evaluates requests, routes messages, or serves as receptionist/ front desk assistant.
• Maintains confidential information and records; processes routine documents such as vouchers and personnel records.
• Disseminates information to the public and maintains files, logs, and copies as instructed.
• Performs preliminary research, data gathering, and basic word processing; conducts quality checks.
