Job summary

TxDOT is seeking a Year-Round Intern to join the Human Resources team in San Angelo. This part-time internship (20 hours/week) offers hands-on administrative experience and exposure to key HR functions, with potential pathways to future opportunities within the agency.

The position is based in the San Angelo district HQ and includes benefits, pay on an hourly basis, and a nonexempt status. Ideal for high school or college students seeking practical HR experience.

Qualifications

• Entry-level administrative support experience preferred but not required.
• Demonstrates ability to handle confidential information and records.

Responsibilities

• Perform entry-level administrative support tasks for the department.
• Assist in maintaining confidential information and records.
• Sort and file documents, both paper and electronic.
• Conduct data audits/updates (Education, Driver's License, Safety Impact, Professional Engineer, Emergency Contact and other system information).
• Assist with event preparation (New Employee Orientation, Recruiting, Wellness, district events).
• Gain exposure to HR-related issues through observation and assistance.
