Job summary

Dover Food Retail is seeking an HR Intern to gain hands-on experience across HR disciplines in our Richmond facility. You will support onboarding, employee communications, and process improvements while learning from HR leaders in a manufacturing setting.

Responsibilities include coordinating orientations, assisting with recruiting, maintaining employee data, and handling staff inquiries. Ideal candidates pursue an HR-related degree and value confidentiality, detail, and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and tact.
• Excellent attention to detail and strong interpersonal skills.
• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Learn the operations aspects of the facility and how HR supports business operations.
• Assist in coordinating new hire orientations, onboarding, developing programs, and improving employee communications.
• Perform process analysis for current HR processes and suggest alternatives to improve efficiency.
• Support recruiting: updating job descriptions, posting positions, vetting applications and resumes, organizing candidate interviews.
• Update company databases with new employee data and maintain files.
• Respond to staff inquiries regarding HR policies and benefits.
• Assist with other tasks and projects as assigned by manager.
