Job summary

DB Insurance USA is seeking an experienced HR Generalist to build structure, streamline processes, and enhance the employee experience. You will implement and optimize HR systems (ATS, LMS, HRIS), drive payroll across multiple states, and shape inclusive culture in a growing organization.

The role involves managing recruitment, performance reviews, benefits guidance, and DEI initiatives, with hybrid work after a 90‑day period in Anaheim, CA.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of HR experience, with at least 4+ years in a management or leadership role.
• Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Expertise in end-to-end payroll processing and serving as the lead administrator for HRIS, ATS, and LMS platforms.
• Experience leading a multi-state U.S. labor law organization with 100+ employees.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• A self-driven and proactive individual who takes ownership of their work.
• HR certifications such as SHRM-CP or PHR a strong plus.
• Experience in the insurance industry is required.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate the full recruitment lifecycle, from posting job openings and screening candidates to onboarding new hires and J‑1 interns, ensuring a seamless and positive experience throughout every stage of the hiring process.
• Coordinate the setup and ongoing optimization of HR systems, including ATS, LMS, and HRIS, ensuring efficiency and continuous improvement.
• Process accurate and timely payroll for multi‑state employees, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
• Design and implement performance reviews on our Performance Management systems that empower employees and foster development.
• Administer employee benefits and offer expert guidance on benefits‑related questions, helping employees make informed decisions.
• Drive employee engagement initiatives and plan fun, inclusive events to nurture a positive, collaborative workplace culture.
• Ensure compliance with CA labor laws, while providing multi‑state HR support across New York, Hawaii, Guam, and Arizona.
• Lead and contribute to DEI efforts, ensuring that all employees feel valued, heard, and included.
• Maintain accurate HR records and data for compliance, reporting, and strategic decision‑making.
• Track key HR metrics and use them to inform reports and shape HR strategies that drive positive change.
• Provide expert HR support, helping employees navigate challenges and fostering a positive experience across the company.
