Job summary

Capital Technology Group is seeking a smart, motivated HR Generalist to join our People Operations team in a hybrid role (1 day per week in Silver Spring, MD). You will guide employee relations, maintain compliance across states, and support the transition to a new HRIS platform.

You will partner with HR and People Operations Manager, manage sensitive conversations, and coach managers to ensure fair, policy-aligned handling of employee matters.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of HR experience with employee relations.
• Working knowledge of employment law and multi-state compliance.
• Proficiency in Google Workspace.
• Located in the DMV area and willing to hybrid schedule (1 day/week in Silver Spring, MD).

Responsibilities

• Support move to a new HRIS platform with data cleanup, testing, and training.
• Monitor state employment law requirements and advise policy updates.
• Administer leaves of absence and answer benefits questions.
• Serve as a go-to resource for workplace policy questions.
• Facilitate difficult conversations and support investigations and separations.
• Coach managers on handling sensitive conversations consistently and in policy.
