The CTG Experience

At Capital Technology Group (CTG), our teams are passionate about modernizing how the federal government delivers software. Our values guide how we work together and support one another, creating an environment where employees feel trusted, empowered, and encouraged to grow both personally and professionally.

About the Role

CTG is seeking a smart, motivated and resourceful HR Generalist to join our growing People Operations team. You will work closely with your HR and People Operations Manager. This role is ideal for an HR professional who enjoys employee relations, likes keeping a company compliant across many states, and wants to be a trusted, approachable resource for employees at a fast-moving federal technology company. You will help guide sensitive and difficult conversations and play a key part in our move to a new HRIS platform.

You Will Get To

  • Support our move to a new HRIS platform, including data clean-up and validation, testing, employee communications and training, and day-to-day administration after launch.
  • Monitor and track employment law requirements in every state where CTG has employees, including paid leave, final pay, wage and hour rules, required notices and postings, and state tax and registration requirements. Flag changes and recommend policy updates.
  • Administer leaves of absence (FMLA, state leave programs, ADA) and answer employee benefits questions in partnership with the HR and People Operations Manager.
  • Serve as a go-to resource for employees on workplace concerns, policy questions and HR processes.
  • Prepare for, facilitate and document difficult conversations, including performance concerns, conflict resolution, corrective action and separations. Support workplace investigations and accommodation requests.
  • Coach and advise people managers before and after sensitive employee conversations so issues are handled consistently, fairly and in compliance with policy.
  • Help maintain the employee handbook, state-specific addenda and documented SOPs for HR processes.
  • Support onboarding and offboarding, including exit interviews, and maintain accurate, confidential personnel records.
  • Help run performance review cycles by keeping timelines on track, following up on completion and supporting manager and employee conversations.
  • Support compliance with federal requirements such as DCAA and OFCCP. Track mandatory training and help prepare documentation for audits.
Who You Are
  • Comfortable leading or supporting difficult conversations with empathy, professionalism and sound judgment.
  • Trusted to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Service-oriented and approachable, with strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented, able to manage several priorities at once in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proactive about spotting compliance risks and process gaps before they become problems.
Qualifications
  • 3+ years of relevant HR experience, with direct, hands‑on involvement in employee relations.
  • Working knowledge of employment law and experience supporting compliance across multiple states.
  • Proficiency in Google Workspace.
  • Located in the DMV (DC, Maryland, Virginia) area and willing to work a hybrid schedule (1 day per week in Silver Spring, MD).
Nice to Have
  • Experience with Rippling or ADP, especially during an HRIS implementation or migration.
  • Experience with federal contracting compliance (DCAA, OFCCP).
  • HR certification (SHRM-CP or PHR).
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or a related field.
