Job summary

The County of San Juan (NM) seeks an HR Generalist to oversee recruitment and onboarding, coordinate training programs, and support HR services across county operations. Under general supervision, you will manage recruitment initiatives, assist with employee records, and provide professional customer service to employees and applicants.

You will collaborate with HR leadership, maintain accurate metrics, and assist with benefits coverage and leave administration as needed.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in a related field and minimum of three (3) years of general Human Resources experience; Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Must have strong understanding of employment laws and hiring principles.
• Experience in recruiting and understanding a compliant recruitment process; knowledge with advertising and marketing.
• One (1) year of professional training capacity, preferred.
• Certification of NMCHRP, CEBS, or PHR in current standing preferred.
• Valid NM Driver's license or able to obtain within six months of employment.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates County recruitment and staffing initiatives; develops recruitment plans with hiring managers and identifies recruitment resources and contacts.
• Prepares and processes job openings, postings, and recruitment materials; assists applicants with the electronic application process.
• Maintains accurate applicant and recruitment records and related materials.
• Assists with development and review of screening questions and interview materials.
• Coordinates employment interviews and communicates with hiring managers and applicants.
• Communicates approved offers and coordinates background checks and pre-employment requirements.
• Serves as a liaison with employment and background screening agencies and educational institutions.
• Prepares recruitment reports and maintains data integrity of records.
