Job summary

Raybern’s Foods seeks an HR Generalist to manage day-to-day HR operations at the Shannon, MS facility. You will oversee recruitment, employee relations, compliance, and training and development.

Responsibilities include maintaining records, policy administration, benefits, and assisting the HR Manager with employee relations issues and investigations. Strong knowledge of HR software and laws is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university
• 3 - 5 years employee relations/ generalist related experience and/or training in Human Resources
• 2 years of experience as an HR Coordinator
• Combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Participates in the day-to-day workflow of the HR department to provide customer service to associates and internal customers, process personnel changes and benefits paperwork, plant communications, staffing and hiring, leave of absence management, timecard oversight, associate relations and investigations, and direct HR support.
• Maintain accurate employment records for hiring, termination, leaves, transfers, or promotions.
• Assist with the administration and communication of policies, procedures, programs, and benefits.
• Assist HR Manager in addressing employee relations issues such as harassment, work complaints, or other concerns.
• Reviews, tracks, and documents compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, including safety training.
• Recruits, interviews, and facilitates hiring of qualified applicants; collaborates with temp staffing agencies.
• Conducts or obtains background checks and employee eligibility verifications.
• Conducts new hire orientation and tracks recognition/bonus programs.
• Performs routine HR tasks including compensation, benefits, leave, disciplinary matters, investigations, performance and talent management, productivity, recognition, and morale.
• Handles inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors; refers complex matters to HR Manager.
• Attends and participates in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
• Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and recommended best practices; reviews policies to stay compliant.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
