Job summary

Commercial Metals Company in Columbia, SC is seeking an HR professional to lead staffing, onboarding, and employee relations activities. This role requires coordinating recruiting in the ATS and ensuring alignment with EEO and related laws while fostering a positive, performance-driven culture.

You will manage new hire processing, policy adherence, and benefits education, with opportunities for training and advancement in a dynamic, manufacturing‑oriented environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years work experience in human resources.
• Knowledge of EEO, FMLA, ADA, FLSA, OSHA, Workers Compensation, DOL, E-Verify, and related laws.
• Strong client facing skills with a consultative mindset and ability to problem solve.
• Proficient in MS Office programs – Outlook, Word, Excel, Powerpoint.
• Ability to travel locally up to 20-40%; future mobility preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensure staffing needs are met in a timely manner.
• Manage recruiting activity and documentation in the ATS per affirmative action policies.
• Responsible for new employee orientations.
• Ensure positive employee relations and build the CMC culture based on our Guiding Principles.
• Process day-to-day transactions such as new hires and employee data changes.
• Oversee compliance with EEO, FMLA, ADA, FLSA, OSHA and related laws.
• Assist with investigations and responses to charges.
• Participate in compensation planning and employee development planning.
• Educate employees about CMC benefits and annual enrollment.
• Training and facilitation.
• Identify issues and communicate with the HR Manager to solve them.
• Ensure consistent CMC policy implementation.
