Dairy Farmers of America, Inc. is seeking an HR Generalist to support HR programs and policies under the HR manager.

The role covers recruiting, onboarding, payroll, benefits, and compliance, with a focus on excellent customer service to employees and leadership teams. The successful candidate will handle moderate issues, maintain records, and collaborate on HR projects while ensuring confidentiality and adherence to company policies and employment laws.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree in HR, Business Admin, or related field, or equivalent combo of education and experience.
• 2–5 years of progressive generalist HR experience.
• Experience with HR information systems and Microsoft Office applications.
• HR certifications preferred (e.g., SHRM, HRCI).

Responsibilities

• Administer the recruitment process for non-exempt and/or exempt positions.
• Coordinate requisitions, postings, candidate correspondence, interview schedules, references, offers, drug screens, and onboarding.
• Work with managers to recruit and select candidates; review resumes and conduct interviews.
• Manage onboarding to ensure a positive employee experience and long-term success.
• Process payroll and apply wage and labor laws; maintain payroll records.
• Provide HR record support and process status changes.
• Assist in preparing EEO/AAP reporting and HR reports.
• Coordinate benefits enrollment and answer benefits questions; administer FMLA and STD programs.
• Manage LOA processes, tracking and return-to-work dates, and communicate status to leadership.
• Coordinate HR communications and ensure up-to-date information across channels.
• Support corporate initiatives at the location with guidance to implement activities.
• Provide policy guidance and ensure compliance with employment law and company culture.
• Perform learning management system administration (DairyU), HRIS data uploads, reporting, and training attendance tracking.
• Process HR-related invoices as appropriate.
• Maintain confidentiality of organizational data and participate in HR projects on performance, onboarding, compensation, and training.
• Conduct research on HR best practices and assist in process development.
