Job summary

Garelick Farms, part of Dairy Farmers of America, is seeking a Human Resources Specialist to help deliver payroll, recruiting, onboarding, leave management, and employee services. The role acts as a resource for staff, safeguarding confidential information and ensuring accuracy in personnel records and benefits administration.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Undergraduate degree in HR or related field preferred.
• 1–3 years HR generalist experience.
• Certification or license may be required during course of employment.

Responsibilities

• Administer payroll processing, tracking, auditing, and correcting payroll transactions.
• Perform recruiting activities for the location such as resume screening and interview scheduling.
• Assist HR to identify sourcing strategies and staffing tactics.
• Coordinate recruitment and onboarding of temporary employees with staffing agencies.
• Coordinate candidate travel and expense reporting for interviews.
• Assist with or facilitate the new hire onboarding process.
• Coordinate new employee orientation; ensure tax documents, I-9, and E-Verify.
• Serve as liaison for benefits questions and open enrollment.
• Submit terminations and employee changes to payroll promptly.
• Facilitate leave management between employees, leave system, payroll and benefits.
• Maintain employee files and documentation; track missing items.
• Respond to HR inquiries and relay to management as needed.
• Coordinate corporate communications and post/distribute updates.
• Maintain required employment postings at assigned location.
• Support employee engagement and recognition events.
• Coordinate training activities and DairyU meetings.
• Complete unemployment claims in required timeframe.
• Be prepared to work off-shifts for events, training, and engagement.
• Frequent floor presence in Distribution.
