Job summary

Tillamook Country Smoker, Inc. is seeking an HR professional to manage core human resources functions across payroll, onboarding, benefits, recruiting, and compliance in a Bay City, Oregon environment.

This role will handle day-to-day HR operations and support employee relations and engagement initiatives. The ideal candidate has a bachelor’s degree in HR or related field and 1–3 years of HR experience, with proven payroll processing skills and strong knowledge of HR practices and employment

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in HR, Business Administration, or related field.
• 1–3 years of HR experience.
• Experience processing payroll is required.
• Knowledge of HR best practices and employment law.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and HRIS/payroll systems.

Responsibilities

• Process payroll to ensure employee pay is accurate and delivered on time.
• Answer employee questions related to payroll, benefits, policies, and HR programs.
• Coordinate recruiting activities, including job postings, candidate screening, interviews, and onboarding.
• Lead new hire orientation and help ensure a positive onboarding experience.
• Maintain employee records and keep HR documentation current.
• Assist with benefits administration, leave of absence tracking, and employee status changes.
• Partner with supervisors and managers on employee relations topics and performance discussions.
• Support compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws.
• Help with HR reporting, audits, and special projects.
• Support employee engagement initiatives and company culture programs.
