Job summary

Oilgear is seeking an HR Generalist to support day-to-day HR at our Traverse City, MI headquarters and across U.S. locations.

You will own payroll, benefits, leave administration, and Day 1 onboarding, collaborating with the HR team and reporting to the Director of Human Resources. The role involves ADP Workforce Now payroll, benefits administration, FMLA and state leaves, onboarding/offboarding, and maintaining confidential records.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in Human Resources or Business, or equivalent.
• 3+ years HR generalist or payroll experience.
• Hands-on payroll processing experience; ADP Workforce Now preferred.
• Experience administering benefits and FMLA or other leaves.
• Knowledge of FLSA, FMLA, ADA, Title VII, Form I-9 and E-Verify, COBRA, HIPAA privacy, and ERISA.
• Knowledge of multi-state wage and hour, final pay, and leave laws.
• Ability to make independent payroll, benefits, or leave decisions.
• Strong Excel skills and confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Own weekly and biweekly payroll for multiple locations in ADP Workforce Now.
• Manage benefits eligibility, COBRA, and open enrollment.
• Administer FMLA and state leaves and track usage.
• Coordinate onboarding, offboarding, and maintain personnel files.
• Plan and support employee events and office operations.
• Collaborate with HR Director and HR Manager on payroll, leaves, and HR processes.
