Job summary

The Ohio Northern University (ONU) Human Resources team is seeking a dedicated HR professional specializing in payroll and employee benefits. This role provides broad HR support and ensures accurate, compliant payroll processing and benefits administration across the university.

You will lead benefits enrollment, vendor coordination, audits, and open enrollment while supporting HR projects, policies, and system improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in HR/Business or related field.
• 2-4 years of progressive HR, payroll, or benefits experience.
• Strong ability to handle confidential information and communicate complex HR concepts.

Responsibilities

• Oversee payroll and benefits administration for accurate, timely processing in line with University policies and laws.
• Administer employee benefit programs including enrollment, payroll reconciliation, claims, audits, vendor coordination, compliance, and annual open enrollment.
• Provide guidance to employees and supervisors on payroll, benefits, timekeeping, policies, procedures, and related matters while maintaining confidential records.
• Lead HR projects related to programs, processes, technologies, and compliance requirements.
• Develop HR policies, procedures, forms, communications, reports, and process documentation focusing on benefits, payroll, HR systems, and data integrity.
• Provide cross-functional HR support including reporting, compliance activities, process improvement, system administration.
• Will have direct supervisory responsibilities within the HR department.
