Job summary

Tidewater Logistics Operating, LLC, Fort Worth, TX, is seeking an experienced HR Generalist for our corporate office. This hands-on role oversees payroll, benefits, employee relations, unemployment and workers' compensation claims, and multi-state compliance for corporate and terminal locations.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, discreet, and capable of navigating complex HR issues across states. Proficiency with Paycom and HRIS is preferred; occasional travel to terminals is required.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of federal and state employment laws.
• Experience managing payroll, benefits, unemployment, and workers' compensation.
• Ability to research unfamiliar HR issues and apply state law.
• Proficient in HRIS and payroll systems; Paycom preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong organizational and analytical skills; attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; maintain confidentiality.
• SHRM-CP or PHR certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Process weekly payroll in Paycom for corporate and terminal locations.
• Administer employee benefits, including enrollments and Open Enrollment.
• Manage recruiting for corporate office positions and support terminals as needed.
• Support hiring at sites; post openings, screen resumes, coordinate interviews, prepare offers.
• Run onboarding: I-9/E-Verify, background checks, drug testing, orientation.
• Answer questions on HR policies, pay, and benefits; resolve promptly.
• Advise on employee relations, performance issues, discipline, terminations.
• Conduct investigations into misconduct and document findings.
• Manage unemployment claims and represent at hearings.
• Handle workers' compensation claims and return-to-work.
• Respond to EEOC, DOL, and state agency charges; liaise with outside counsel.
• Research employment law across states Tidewater operates (TX, OH, PA, WV, LA).
• Maintain HRIS data, Employee Handbook, HR policies, and leadership reports.
• Ensure compliance with FLSA, FMLA, ADA, EEO; manage postings.
• Travel to terminal locations as needed.
