Job summary

Constellis in Herndon, VA is seeking a Human Resources Generalist to provide day-to-day HR support to assigned business stakeholders, manage onboarding and offboarding, respond to employee inquiries, and ensure compliance with policies and procedures.

The role uses HRIS, reporting tools, and other technology to drive productivity, gather workforce data, prepare reports, and support labor relations and confidential processes, collaborating with HR partners and operational leaders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field
• Three years of professional HR experience
• Proficiency with MS Office applications including Excel
• Ability to learn HR systems, reporting tools, automation
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment
• Experience with HRIS or HR tech platforms preferred
• Experience with labor relations and union environments preferred

Responsibilities

• Respond to employee inquiries and interpret HR policies
• Assist onboarding for new hires and track document completion
• Build rapport with stakeholders and understand workforce needs
• Generate and distribute HR communications and reports
• Support employee relations and escalate complex issues to HRBP
• Manage offboarding and termination documentation
• Serve as liaison between HR and other departments
• Handle HR service center tickets and follow-up
• Gather, organize, and communicate workforce data for reporting
• Validate data across HR systems and maintain reporting integrity
• Manage multiple priorities and confidential information
• Respond to unemployment claims as needed
• Support labor relations and CBA administration
• Collaborate with HR team on projects and training
• Lead departmental initiatives when assigned
• Support continuous improvement of HR processes
• Maintain confidentiality of personnel data
• Perform other duties as assigned
