Job summary

Barber-Nichols is seeking an HR Generalist to support the employee lifecycle across recruiting, onboarding, benefits, compliance, and employee relations. You will partner with management to implement policies, manage HRIS data, and drive learning and development initiatives.

Strong communication, confidentiality, and collaboration with the HR team are essential. This role includes coordinating background checks, onboarding for new hires, benefits administration, and supporting performance

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Organizational/Industrial Psychology, Business Management or related field.
• PHR or SHRM-CP certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support recruiting: create/update job descriptions, source candidates, maintain ATS, conduct phone screens, schedule interviews, communicate with candidates, assist with offers.
• Lead full-cycle onboarding: offer acceptance, 30/90-day check-ins, background checks, I-9/E-Verify, onboarding packets, orientation.
• Ensure compliance: data integrity in HRIS, LMS training, policy acknowledgements, handbook updates, unemployment responses, audits.
• Benefits and leave administration: open enrollment, employee questions, life events processing, COBRA, benefit invoices.
• Employee relations & performance management: be first point of contact, counseling, support terminations, manage performance reviews, exit interviews.
• Engagement & learning: coordinate events, surveys, trainings, development programs, attendance tracking, tuition assistance.
• Oversee front desk coverage as needed and other duties.
