Job summary

National Railroad Safety Services, Inc. (NRSS) is hiring a Human Resources Generalist in Cincinnati, OH. This full-time, exempt role covers onboarding, policies, compliance, benefits, recruitment, and policy implementation in a fast-paced environment.

The candidate will manage employee relations, ensure labor-law compliance, and support leave administration and performance processes. A structured HR background is essential for success in our office setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in HR or Business Administration or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of three years' HR generalist experience.
• Strong knowledge of HR best practices and labor laws.
• Excellent interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills.
• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office or related software.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive onboarding programs for new hires.
• Develop and implement HR policies and procedures.
• Stay abreast of changes in labor laws and regulations to ensure compliance.
• Facilitates background checks, MVR checks, and other industry specific requirements.
• Oversee the employee life cycle, ensuring consistency and compliance across locations.
• Foster positive employee relations and address concerns in a timely manner.
• Administer employee benefit programs and respond to inquiries.
• Support performance management processes and development initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws.
• Assist departments with projects and leave administration.
• Investigate and resolve employee relations issues.
• Develop and update company policies and procedures.
