Job summary

North Shore Community College seeks an HR Generalist (Staff Assistant) in Human Resources Development to support daily HR operations including onboarding/offboarding, performance management, benefits, and compliance. This 37.5-hour/week, non-unit professional position offers a Monday–Friday schedule with one telework day after 90 days.

The candidate should have an Associate’s degree in HR or Business Administration and 2+ years of related experience, plus strong communication and analytical

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
• 2+ years of administrative, HR, or related professional experience.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships at all levels.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; detail-oriented with strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Experience interacting with culturally diverse populations.
• Candidates will pass CORI/SORI and/or National background checks.

Responsibilities

• Track performance management processes for all employees (NUPS, AFSCME, MCCC).
• Track and process Telework applications and contracts.
• Process contractual notices and onboarding/offboarding tasks.
• Assist scanning of personnel files/documents.
• Ensure HR postings are up to date on both campuses.
• Oversee I-9 forms and HR intranet updates.
• Support budgeting with Finance; manage HR projects.
