The Salvation Army North and Central Illinois Division is seeking a Human Resources Generalist for the Harbor Light program in Chicago. This role supports HR functions to develop, implement, and evaluate programs and processes in alignment with organizational goals.

You will collaborate with department managers to recruit, onboard, and administer benefits, maintain confidential personnel records, and uphold compliance across HR activities. Prior HR experience and a Bachelor’s degree are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in HR or related field required.
• 3–5 years HR experience.
• Proficient in Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

Responsabilités

• Coordinate recruitment with departments and manage candidate communications.
• Maintain employee files with strict confidentiality and audit readiness.
• Lead onboarding processes and ensure required paperwork is completed online and tracked.
• Coordinate benefits, leave management, and relations with divisional HR.
• Support training compliance and documentation for safety and regulatory programs.
• Assist with investigations and employee relations issues as needed.
