Job summary

Compassus is seeking a Human Resources Generalist I to model our values—Compassion, Integrity, Excellence, Teamwork, and Innovation—and to uphold the Code of Ethical Conduct. This role emphasizes employee relations, policy enforcement, and ensuring legal compliance across HR matters.

The candidate will conduct investigations, develop policies, and partner with the Employment Law team on EEOC and related claims, while supporting a culture of inclusion and performance excellence.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in a related field required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
• At least two years of HR management experience with emphasis on employee relations.
• Healthcare HR experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collaborates with team members and leaders to resolve employment matters.
• Conducts investigations of complaints from management and staff at all levels.
• Ensures uniform and equitable application of policies and procedures.
• Develops trust with management through timely, integrity-based solutions.
• Investigates compliance matters related to FMLA, ADA, FLSA, Title VII, etc., ensuring federal/state compliance.
• Partners with Employment Law to respond to EEOC, DOL, and other claims.
• Tracks issues/complaints and reports status to HR management.
• Prepares new or amended policies to respond to new laws and ensure compliance.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
