Job summary

Pratt Industries is seeking a Human Resources Generalist for the North Central Converting Division based out of Grand Rapids, MI. The role involves directing all phases of employment, managing benefits administration, and acting as the primary contact for managers and staff in HR matters.

Ideal candidates have two to four years of HR experience, strong recruiting skills, and a BS in HR Management/Business Mgmt. SPHR/PHR certification is preferred, with MS Office and ADP experience valued.

Qualifications

• Two to Four years' experience in HR or similar role.
• BS degree in HR Management/Business Mgmt or related field.
• SPHR or PHR certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Direct all phases of employment including advertising, recruiting, interviewing, testing, placement of personnel, orientation programs, exit interviews, and unemployment compensation hearings.
• Investigate hotline calls and employee complaints to seek positive resolution quickly.
• Administer all employee benefits including medical, dental, vision, STD, LTD, FMLA and vacation, paid sick leave.
• Serve as primary contact to managers and employees, under the HR Manager, on HR matters.
• Maintain HR reports and records per state and federal laws and update personnel files and I-9s.
• Assist in managing temporary agencies supplying labor to the plant and ensure they meet Pratt Industries criteria.
• Comply with company policies and travel to other locations as designated.
