Job summary

Xcelerate Solutions is seeking an HR Generalist in San Francisco to provide front-line HR support for employees and supervisors, covering onboarding, records, leave, employee relations, and offboarding. The role emphasizes accuracy, employee-centered processes, and timely resolution in a fast-paced environment.

The ideal candidate will manage employee data, ensure CA wage-hour compliance, and partner with Payroll and HRBPs to drive smooth lifecycle processes and policy adherence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in HR, business, or a related field.
• 3+ years of broad HR generalist or HR operations experience.
• Experience maintaining confidential employee records and completing high-volume HR transactions.
• Knowledge of core employee relations, wage-and-hour, leave, accommodation, and performance-management practices.

Responsibilities

• Serve as an accessible first point of contact for employee and supervisor questions, providing accurate information and escalating complex issues.
• Coordinate employee lifecycle activities: onboarding, orientation, changes, transfers, promotions, and offboarding.
• Maintain accurate employee data and documentation in the HRIS and personnel files; conduct audits and correct discrepancies.
• Support employee relations by intake, gathering facts, tracking cases, and assisting with investigations.
• Help leaders prepare clear performance, attendance, corrective-action, and separation documentation in partnership with the HR Business Partner.
• Apply company policies and the CA state requirements; respond to routine CBA questions and escalate disputes or labor-relations concerns.
• Maintain knowledge of California requirements affecting daily HR administration, including wage-and-hour practices, meal/rest periods, leaves, and notices.
• Coordinate with Payroll and Operations to resolve timekeeping, pay, schedule, deductions, and status questions.
• Provide employees with benefit and leave information and route specialized questions to the right resource.
• Support high-volume recruitment, onboarding, and start-up or stabilization activities.
• Develop and maintain checklists, templates, SOPs, and manager resources to improve accuracy and service.
