Job summary

The Lycée Français de San Francisco is seeking a Temporary HR Generalist to support the Human Resources team across three Bay Area campuses. Reporting to the HR Manager, this role focuses on employee relations, compliance, and payroll backup support.

The ideal candidate brings 5+ years in HR, experience with CA wage and hour laws, ADA/FEHA processes, and proficiency with a modern HRIS such as Rippling. French language fluency is preferred, and strong discretion is essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of progressively responsible HR experience, with emphasis on employee relations and compliance.
• Deep knowledge of California labor laws, FMLA/CFRA, ADA/FEHA for a private school setting.
• Experience with live scan fingerprinting, background checks, TB clearances is preferred.
• Proficiency with HRIS systems and payroll processes; ability to maintain confidential records.

Responsibilities

• Conduct workplace investigations and handle complaints across campuses with detailed documentation.
• Lead interviews, gather evidence, draft investigation reports with actionable recommendations.
• Facilitate ADA/FEHA interactive process for accommodations in collaboration with staff and providers.
• Backup monthly payroll processing and review payroll registers for accuracy.
• Support benefits open enrollment and ongoing administration of health, dental, vision, and retirement plans.
• Coordinate new hire onboarding, maintain HR records, and ensure regulatory compliance.
