Job summary

GBC Food Services, LLC. is seeking an HR Generalist to support the employee life cycle across corporate, field, warehouse, and multiple locations.

You will handle recruiting, onboarding, benefits, payroll, leave administration, performance management, HR records, and training while providing practical policy guidance. As a first point of contact for employees and managers, you will maintain accurate records, ensure compliant processes, and partner with leaders on workforce needs.

Qualifications

• HR knowledge across recruiting, onboarding, employee relations, performance management, benefits, leave, records, and offboarding.
• Working knowledge of FLSA, FMLA, ADA, Title VII, EEO, I-9, wage-and-hour and state/local requirements; know when to escalate.
• Ability to address sensitive concerns, document fact-finding, protect confidentiality and coach managers.
• Proficiency with HRIS, ATS, and data reporting; strong MS Excel and analytic skills.
• Clear written and verbal communication; build trust and influence without direct authority.
• Experience across multi-location environments; travel as required.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the employee life cycle from requisitions through onboarding and offboarding.
• Respond to policy questions; document matters and escalate risk promptly.
• Support employee relations through investigations, documentation, and follow-up with HR leadership.
• Coach managers on attendance, conduct, performance, and respectful workplace expectations.
• Maintain accurate HRIS data and confidential personnel records including I-9, pay, and leave.
• Coordinate benefits enrollment, payroll-impacting changes, leaves, and workers' comp with internal teams.
• Support compliance, notices, audits, and policy updates at federal, state, and local levels.
• Facilitate new-hire orientation and training on policies, conduct, and performance topics.
• Partner with hiring leaders on workforce needs, interviews, and candidate experience.
• Assist with performance reviews, development plans, and talent discussions.
