Job summary

GrayMatter Robotics is a rapidly growing Physical AI company headquartered in Los Angeles, with a Carson, CA HQ. This HR Generalist role will own the entire employee experience, from onboarding to offboarding, building people systems from scratch while ensuring compliance and driving culture.

You will lead engagement, payroll, benefits, and HR operations, acting as UKG power user and driving automation. This onsite role requires 6+ years in HR and strong California knowledge.

Qualifications

• 6+ years in HR or People Operations
• 2+ years building company-wide processes from scratch
• Experience in tech startup or tech company
• Knowledge of multi-state compliance (California)
• Payroll administration and benefits reconciliation

Responsibilities

• Own employee experience from onboarding to offboarding
• Lead employee engagement and internal communications
• Run payroll end-to-end and manage benefits
• Ensure HR compliance across states and audits
• Maintain HRIS (UKG) and analytics
• Automate workflows and generate HR metrics
• Support interview scheduling and candidate hosting
• Work onsite four days a week at Carson HQ
