HireArt is helping our client, a fast-growing technology company operating at the intersection of artificial intelligence, technology, and the future of work, find an experienced HR Generalist to support day-to-day people operations and help build efficient, employee-focused HR processes as the organization continues to scale.
In this role, you\'ll support employees throughout the employee lifecycle, with a particular focus on benefits administration, 401(k) programs, immigration, onboarding and offboarding, compliance, and general HR operations. You\'ll serve as a key resource for employees while partnering with internal stakeholders and external HR providers to deliver a consistent and effective employee experience.
The ideal candidate is an experienced HR professional with hands-on expertise in benefits administration, 401(k) programs, and employment-based immigration. You are highly organized, discreet, and comfortable managing multiple time-sensitive priorities in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
As an HR Generalist, you\'ll:
- Serve as a primary point of contact for employees regarding HR policies, benefits, payroll-related questions, and general people operations support.
- Administer employee benefits programs, including medical, dental, vision, leave programs, and other employee offerings, and support the ongoing administration of the company\'s 401(k) retirement plan.
- Coordinate employment-based immigration and work authorization processes, including documentation, deadlines, renewals, employee communications, and partnership with outside immigration counsel.
- Manage onboarding and offboarding and support employee lifecycle changes, including promotions, compensation changes, leaves of absence, and terminations.
- Maintain accurate employee records and HR documentation while supporting compliance with applicable federal, state, and local employment requirements.
- Partner with benefits brokers, retirement plan administrators, immigration counsel, and other HR vendors, and assist with employee relations matters as needed.
- Identify opportunities to streamline HR processes and support additional People and HR initiatives as the organization grows.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience as an HR Generalist, in People Operations, or in a similar HR role, ideally within a fast-paced technology or high-growth environment
- Hands-on experience administering employee benefits programs, including medical, dental, vision, and related benefit offerings
- Experience supporting or administering a 401(k) retirement plan, including employee support and coordination with third-party plan administrators
- Experience supporting employment-based immigration and work authorization processes, including coordination with employees and immigration counsel
- Strong understanding of HR operations and the employee lifecycle, including onboarding, offboarding, employee changes, and HR documentation
- Working knowledge of federal and state employment laws and HR compliance requirements
- Experience with HRIS and benefits administration platforms
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and time-sensitive employee matters
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- High level of discretion and sound judgment when handling confidential employee information
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, rapidly evolving environment where processes continue to develop as the organization scales
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting employees in California and familiarity with California employment requirements
- Experience within an AI, technology, startup, or high-growth organization
- Experience developing or improving HR processes and programs during periods of rapid organizational growth
- Experience partnering directly with benefits brokers, 401(k) providers, and immigration counsel
